I am not by nature a visual person. I have to force myself to see photographically. My photographs are simply a reflection of what grabs my visual attention, I don’t seem consciously to have a grand plan, but I am unconsciously drawn to the same themes... Fortunately, the natural world in all its evolutionary beauty surrounds me, and I am awed by the complexity of a branching tree, the eastern Canadian landscape in the fall and winter, stark naked trees against a soft or steely sky, and the marvelous complexity of birds.
I am also interested in human habitat - cities and architecture, people interacting in strange and sometimes humorous ways, unusual juxtapositions, and the interactions between human activity and natural phenomena.
