Message from RAINBIRDER
WELCOME TO MY GALLERIES.
Birds are my passion but I find all aspects of the natural world of interest.
Initially most of my images were of birds photographed in Scotland but over the last few years I have had some great birding experiences whilst on family holidays in Europe & beyond which have since generated lots of new gallery material.
Whilst Scotland must rank as one of the most beautiful & scenic countries in the world it has a number of drawbacks for bird photography. The biggest problem is the weather. Dark, gloomy, grey winter skys pose major lighting issues whilst frequent rain & strong winds make long lens work difficult. I spend so much time birding in such conditions that the name Rainbirder seems only appropriate!
