Your Potomac river landscapes are amazingly dynamic with complex compositions of high texture and wonderful light quality; they really show one doesn't need to be in Yellowstone or Capri to find a surreal, photogenic atmosphere. It also seems you unlocked the natural affinity of using a portrait layout (instead of landscape) to maximize the depth of compositions and to tighten the organization of their elements. (I find this is often the case.) However, I wish you translated this dynamism to the urban environment. In your D.C. gallery, the light quality is more or less repetitive and the images are more flat in comparison. Different environment - different challenges. Mainly, you're dealing with just about one element - a subject - instead of many elements. And then the camera is much farther from this subject - a monument usually - and so the whole scene flattens if there's no definition in the sky from clouds, or the surrounding land goes flat black in shadow. None of this matters in, say, your Calvin Run Mill photo in the landscape gallery; that is awesome atmosphere with crisp definition and spooky light all through. But the same approach doesn't go as far in the big city. Just my thoughts - agree or disagree. Your D.C. stuff's still nice.

P.S. The cat with the lizard in it's mouth is the most hysterical story. I am driving through my neighborhood with my camera and see the gorgeous cat to take a picture of. As I zoomed in with my lens I could see it had just caught a lizard! What are the chances LOL! Then I blocked it's way with my van because it was tying to cross the street with the lizard LOL! It sat there and stared me down and that's how I got the shot!

Unfortunately I was violently ill ... thought I had Typhoid and was hospitalised for a little while, huge effort to lift my water bottle let alone a ca,era but still mangaed a couple of shots .. I may have to go back again ! Cheers

In the following photo, one of them flown away, another was about depart to chase his partner. It's very interesting scene. Glad you liked my Myanmar gallery. I had a tour round yours - you have some great shots.
